Providence Canyon :: Destiny & Tony

Destiny entered, and won, my giveaway at the winter bridal expo I had a booth at in January! Our original plan was to meet at Omaha Brewing for beer tasting, a tour and some photos (that's the moment I knew I loved her), but due to a very large birthday party being hosted at Omaha, we decided to adventure to Providence Canyon instead, and let me just tell you, that decision was a good one!
It was a beautiful day (aren't they always?) so T and the dogs decided to drive with me and hike while I worked. The pets got out of the car and Destiny made the same squeaking noise I always make when I see dogs "PUPPIES!" she said. Obviously there is another sign that I would love her. We wandered down onto the floor of the canyon and I just stared at the canyon walls. I've been there once before, but it was pouring rain (and ruined my camera) so I didn't get to really appreciate it's full beauty.
As we chatted I quickly learned Tony is the comedian of the two. There were many sarcastic comments, over the top adoring of Destiny and snarky conversations. This might not be ideal for most, but I am a New Englander at my core, so it was like hanging with my high school besties; we were raised on sarcasm, layers of clothing and Dunkin Donuts, so it's only fitting that Tony and I were quickly snarking back and forth while Destiny laughed and joined in the sarcasm.
A few of my favorite things:
  • Their outfits. I know, cliche, but I am SUCH a sucker for a soft pink blouse and I thought Tony's plaid shirt complimented Destiny's color choice so nicely. Not to mention I was obsessed with Destiny's shoes (so obsessed I bought myself a pair, just darker).
  • The super casual-ness of them both. Usually I have clients who request certain poses, and shots, but these two were so low key! I really felt like I was having an afternoon with my besties in NH.
  • Their dogs. Okay, so they didn't bring their dogs (which I openly confessed bummed me out so much), but they told me stories and showed pictures of their TWO corgis -- I FREAKING LOVE CORGIS SO MUCH. From one dog mom to another dog mom, Destiny and I just connected.

  1. I know this post is several years old, but I’d love to ask you a few questions about the hike if you don’t mind. I have a couple interested in doing a session there!
