Rocky Top Farm Wedding :: Alison & Stewart

It's been yet another crazy couple of weeks for me (aren't they always?).. I spent a long weekend up in New Hampshire visiting family and seeing sissy graduate from nursing school and last weekend I ventured over to Georgia's *beautiful* Jekyll Island for a triathlon (no big deal I came in 2nd place in my age group - hair flip!).

Back to reality after my mini vacations, and back to work on this beautiful, sunshiney wedding day! Alison and Stewart got MARRIED! I still can't believe that Alison chose me to be her photographer. I felt so excited when she booked me, I knew it was going to be a great wedding. Alison has this very quiet personality until you get to know her and then she is sassy and funny and kind. Stewart is equally as awesome, but in a much more loud and goofy kind of way. The best part of these two, is the way Stewart makes Alison laugh, it melts my heart.
It was a perfect spring day in Georgia - one of the few that don't make you sweat to death, while simultaneously you are enjoying a gentle breeze. There was not a cloud in the sky, and you could smell summer coming. The day was filled with some of my favorite things: Sunflowers, intimate moments, simple details, and relaxed, happy family members.
Stewart and Alison got married at The Farm at Rocky Top in Opelika, Alabama. It was AWESOME! The guys got to get ready in this sweet little "meat house" that actually used to be a meat house (nope, I'm not going to use my imagination to figure out what exactly that means). It was well decorated with festive lights and a bunch of vintage signs, birdhouses and tools! The girls got ready in the "bunk house" which was perfectly pink with beautiful floors and, as the ladies love, perfect lighting!
We had pre-planned a first look (*swoon*), so we were escorted out to the middle of a beautifully mowed field to enjoy a massive shady tree. In typical Emily fashion, I had to put on my sunglasses so nobody could see my tears of joy. I know, I'm such a sucker.
And seriously, this bridal party was a blast! They were so fun with their posing, I was in heaven!

Let the party begin! I totally loved this bright and fabulous barn, it made for gorgeous photos if I do say so myself :)
They had a selfie station... So obviously Kara and I had to get a picture of us...
AND A SPARKLER EXIT! UGH YES! I have yet to be burned by a drunk guest with a sparkler, so until then I am going to continue to be completely in love with all sparkler images!

  1. Hey!! Great to see this farm wedding. Really loved these pictures. Lovely couple, looks like made each other. Have been planning my niece’s wedding at one of New York wedding venues but finding it’s quite difficult. So will be hiring wedding planners for the day.
