Newborn Session -- Gunnar Hodgman

Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend! It was HOT here in Italy, which of course meant that Zeus got to go swimming twice and I spent probably too much time in the sun. Is there such thing?

I know how tough it is to go back to work after a four day weekend, so I thought I might make your Monday a little brighter with this sweet, sweet newborn session I did while back in the states. As you all know, Janelle and Keith had their healthy baby boy on May 18th, and I was able to sneak in a session about a week later. Let's be honest, we all knew this baby boy was going to be adorable, remember how cute their maternity photos were?!

Well I can confirm with you, that he was in fact adorable, so tiny (which by default makes him cuter), and awake. What? Not that I have too much experience with newborn babies, but generally they do a lot of eating and sleeping. Well Mr Gunnar ate, and watched us set up, and ate again and stared at Mom and Dad, and ate again and closed his eyes for about five minutes then stared at us again. Needless to say I got a ton of photos with him staring at me wondering what the heck is she doing? Obviously this was fine with me because he has the loveliest almond shaped eyes and what girl doesn't love being stared at by a baby?

Without further ado, I present the adorable, Gunnar Hogdman, who remained calm, cool and collected throughout the whole shoot (no shock there, Keith is the same way) even when we wanted to switch positions, change blankets and rotate props. Congratulations Jell and Keith, your baby boy is perfect! Enjoy every moment with him, they grow so quickly.
The above and below black and white images are two of my favorite images of the shoot.
I love how Deak managed to make himself part of the shoot!
I hope you guys enjoy! Thank you so much Janelle and Keith for allowing me to come and take photos of this perfect little bundle of joy! I look forward to watching him grow up, you are truly blessed.

XO
